lovely little town on the delaware river- old qaint bldgs, originally built in 1700s - flora and fauna=cranberry bogs! if youve never seen them being harvested, its fascinating- they flood ditches and go along and knock off the ripe cranberries(ocean spray has/had harvesting plant there in bordentown across from napoleans brothers home) then the ones that float, as in the commercials on tv where you see the red blood color water(which are the ripe berries) are captured thru harvester at end of drainage ditch-- they process then to the drinks, jellies and jams that we all associate with thanksgiving and xmas or whateve r holiday. lots of horse farms in burlington-t he land is fine for horses feet-and the grass sweet. the tallman family has been there for centuries i believe. medford is gorgeous-(further south in county) overall, burlington is one of the nicer counties cause some open space still left and lots of trees that are deciduous, rivers, creeks, history and nice little towns where you can park, eat shop and be relatively safe to live and peruse the area. bass river twsp is at the tail end- and lots of kayaking, canoeing(sp) and so on to enjoy their on a lovely day- any time of hte year. mostly wildlife preserve last i was there- of course there are the factory homes built by roebling to see- in roebling! (big surprise)and if you arent aware of it, roebling made the cables for the golden gate bridge among other suspension bridges across usa. some really interesting, famous stuff if it hits you right- moorestown for shopping, country to ride thru for afternoon farm stands and yard sales, auctions and so on- i believe i may be wrong about chesterfield being in hamilton twsp- altho parts of it may be. in chesterfield, there is the old quaker meeting house with the story of cannonball(thought to be not there now)embedded in wall- however, the historical aspects are all around the county and except for some areas- like willingboro which was a levitt development built on farm land, most towns are old walking towns- still- be careful and aware. linda ************************************** See what's free at http://www.aol.com.
