Hello Patti, Abraham Brower b. 1675, married Lea Demarest, d/o Jean. Lea was born 1682, and married 1700. In the Will of Abraham Brower he names his BROTHER in LAW as JAMES CRISTY. Because I did not see any sister of Abraham married to James Cristy, I had to assume that James Cristy is married to one of Lea Demarest's sisters. Now you have come forward with the information that James Christie married Magdalena Demarest in 1708. "The Demarest Family" 1964, Voorhis David Demarest. This work states that Lea, Magdalena and Peter Demarest are 3 of 11 children of John Demarest (aka Jean de Marets) and his first wife Jacomina de Ruine. This would make Lea Brower and Magdalena Christie sisters. PLEASE send me and/or post here the children of James and Magdalena Christie. NOTE: if you consult the original email below, I have added new information to it, in order to reflect the true connections and identifications. Also NOTE: that Jacob Brower b. 1709 was 16 years old when his father Abraham wrote his Will. He is not mentioned by name in the Will, but there is wording which states for 'my minor children'. I suppose Jacob Brower was not mentioned because of his not being of age, and thus could not inherit land out right, but he could have been mentioned and a court guardian appointed and thus he could inherit later whenhe turned 21. However, Jacob Brower was a son of Abraham Brower and Lea Demarest, he married Jannetje Hartje. >From the Archives of the State of New Jersey, First Series: Documents relating to the colonial history of the state of New Jersy, Will, Vol 1 1670-1730 (William Nelson) Paterson, NJ 1901 page 136 In the Will of John DES MARETS, of New Barbados, Bergen Co NJ dated March 29, 1714, and proved Nov 10,1719, there is listed Lea, wife of Abraham Brower. Magdalena is the wife. Lea's siblings are: John Demarest of Apoghquinimy, PA; Peter Demarest of New Barbados, NJ; Maria Demares wife of Jacobus Shot; Sarah Demarest wife of Abraham Cannan; Rachel Demarest wife of Thomas Hyer; Jaquemire Demarest wife of John Stward of Chester Co; Magdalena Demarest wife of James Christianson. (Note: James Christie) Can you please reply to me, or post your BROWER ancestors, or who you are interested in. I might know them.
