The Allen County (Indiana) Library responded: "No, our material does not circulate, but our Research Center can assist you by mail. Print and use the form at http://www.acpl.lib.in.us/genealogy/ResearchServicesRequest.pdf" You'll see they want $25 pre-paid, for up to an hour on a single research question. Having your nearest LDS center order the films (as another reader mentioned) is another way to go, as is visiting the NJ Archives in Trenton. I will not be pursuing any of these routes myself, since the Index did not cover South Jersey counties, but perhaps a couple of other readers will want to team up, off list. Quoting Terri <[email protected]>: (clip) the Indiana Library Delores speaks of is definitely a surprising source of NJ info. I have used them and posted this source a few times on other NJ lists. Quoting Stephanie Miller <[email protected]>: (clip) "Index to Damages in New Jersey by the British and Americans, 1776-1782" . . . I would appreciate a lookup for the surname LEE. ---------------------------------------------------------------- This message was sent using IMP, the Internet Messaging Program.
But if you know the book and pages they will make copies. I have done this several times. The charge was $7.50 plus copy costs which I thought was very reasonable.
