I too would be interested. Went to check it out at google and all that was there was the military group and not the spiritual group. I never heard of the Col Dames, either. MUNRO, SMITH, WOODRUFF This will is very interesting to me. As you know I'm on a hunt for parents of HIRAM G. MCCORMICK 1804-10 NY who was married in Morris Co. NJ 1828 to GINNETTE MUNROE. A WOODRUFF wrote the obit of Hiram's son William in 1906. Had a women names VOY (and son William) taking care of HIRAM'S wife before she died in 1870. Grandson of Hiram was Samuel SMITH 1873. HIRAM was a shoemaker. Do you think they connect in any way? If we connect I would appreciate your opinion. Re. #16 - I'm guessing "Hackstown" is really Hackettstown, in Warren Co., since it is grouped with Drakestown which is an area nearby, sort of between Budd Lake and Hackettstown. (Not to be confused with Drakesville, in Roxbury Twp., Morris Co., which is now called Ledgewood.) Warren Co. was set off from Sussex Co. in 1824. In "Historical Collections of the State of New Jersey" by Barber and Howe, pub. 1844, in the section on Independence Twp., Warren Co., it says " Hackettstown, on the Musconetcong creek, 17 m. NE. of Belvidere, was founded previous to the American revolution and derives its name from Mr. Samuel Hackett, a large landholder." Shirley in Ohio, but from NJ
From "History of The Oranges in Essex County, NJ" Camptown was the original name of Irvington where the Camp family lived. Tory Corner is part of West Orange including Main Street and Washington Street. Doddtown is on the border of East Orange and Orange. ----- Original Message ----- From: <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Friday, May 18, 2007 10:41 AM Subject: [NJ] FIND ME IN NEW JERSEY #2 > Howdy - I thought we'd do it one more time, and if you like, will > continue as long as am able. Howdy - I thought we'd do it one more time, and if you like, will continue as long as am able. Lots of testators never bothered to include locations of land they owned, or nearby references, and so lots of wills cannot be included in this project.
