Telegraph Herald Dubuque, Iowa February 17, 1998 DIXON, Ill. - Charles F. Nix, 86, 823 N. Ottawa Ave., Dixon, died Monday, Feb. 16, 1998, at K.S.B. Hospital, Dixon. Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Anne Catholic Church, Dixon, with the Rev. Rich Rosinski officiating. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Dixon. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Jones Funeral Home, Dixon, where there will be a prayer service at 9:30 a.m. Thursday. Mr. Nix was a billing manager at Commonwealth Edison for 34 years, retiring in 1976. He was born in Virgil, son of John and Matilda (Schottmiller) Nix. He married Ruth Schwarz on May 5, 1939, in McHenry. He was a member of St. Anne's Catholic Church, Dixon, and the St. Anne Young at Heart Club. He served as a commissioner of the Sauk Valley District of the Boy Scouts of America. He also was an avid hunter for many years. Surviving are his wife, Ruth, of Dixon; two sons, C. Jerome (Claire) Nix, of Englewood, Colo., and Donald Nix, of St. Charles; a daughter, Rosemary (Daniel) Maresh, of Galena; six grandchildren, David Nix, Michael Nix and Megan Nix, all of Englewood, Mark (Allison) Nix, of Morton, Monica and Cyndy Maresh, both of Galena; and one great-granddaughter, Ruth Anne Nix, of Morton. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother; one sister; and a grandson, Matthew. Memorials may be given to St. Anne Catholic Church and to Heritage Square, both in Dixon.
