My gr grandparents were James Layfette NIX b. 1858 Ga. and Nancy Adoline Seabolt. They had children born in Ga. and Ala. before moving to Texas probably in the mid 1890s. They had seven children and among them was a John F., b 1884 Ga., m. Donia Addison. He lived in the Farmersville-Dallas area and had two daughters Velma and Pauline. He died in 1960 and is buried at Dallas. John F. had a brother Edward, but I don't think you will run across him as he died at about 2 years of age. These Nixes came from Ga. and Ala. to Texas, then Okla., along with relatives named Smith. James Layfette Nix was the son of Cisro Valentine Nix and Cynthia R. Smith.
