The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 26, 1998, at New Horizon Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with burial at Oak Hill Cemetery. The Rev. Billy Holcombe will officiate. Visitation will be from 6 until 9 tonight. New Horizon Memorial Funeral Home will direct. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Oscar Nix. She is survived by her daughter, Joanne N. and her husband, Rev. Gene Cagle of Adamsville; son, James Phillips "Phil" and his wife, Eileen Nix of Vestavia; sister, Edith Varbrough of Sumiton; brother, Joe Frank Phillips of Empire; two grandchildren, Kelly and her husband, Travis Alvis of Empre and David and his wife, Lynn Cagle of Montgomery; and six great-grandchildren, Shaun alvis, Katie Alvis and Seth Alvis, all of Empire, John David Cagle and Joseph Cagle, both of Arab and Riley Cagle of Montgomery.
