Texarkana Gazette Texarkana TX April 13, 1998 Daingerfield, Texas - E. J. Nix, 73, of Daingerfield, died Saturday, April 11, 1998, in Daingerfield. Mr. Nix was born Jan. 8, 1925, in Greenville, Texas. He was a retired employee of Kansas City Southern and L & A Railroad, a member of the South Union Baptist Church, the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and a Navy veteran of World War II. He was preceded in death by his wife, Louise Nix. Survivors include one son, Steve Nix of Daingerfield; three daughters, Deborah Hill of Daingerfield, Karen Thomas of Carthage, Texas, and Brenda Jackson of DeKalb, Texas; one brother, Albert Strickland of Nevada, Texas; three sisters, Mabell Gray of Wylie, Texas, Hattie Graves of Greenville, and Maple Maddox of Blue Eye, MO; nine grandchildren; and five great- grandchildren. Services will be 2 pm today at South Union Baptist Church with Roddy Jackson and The Rev. Neal Clark officiating. Burial will be in Clark Cemetery under the direction of Nail-Haggard Funeral Home.
