I believe most of Guilford County was formed from Rowan County, NC, which included almost half of the state at the time. Also, there was a McQuistion family living in area at the time. You might want to research that family some to see if you Margaret Quinton was connected to the McQuiston family in some way. Three McQuiston brothers came to America, arriving at New Castle in 1735, and then coming to North Carolina about 1753 with the Nottingham Company. Hope this helps in some way.
