Born in Wyvern, Cumberland Co., she was a daughter of the late Fenwick and Annie (Colborne) Nix. She had been a guest at the villa for the past year. She was a resident of Collingwood, Cumberland Co., before moving to Thorburn in 1954. She was an adherent of Union Presbyterian Church, Thorburn, and a member and past noble grand of Dorcas Rebekah Lodge 42, Thorburn. She was also a member of Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 28, Ladies Auxiliary, Stellarton. Surviving are her husband, A. Fred, Thorburn; daughters, Una (Mrs. Donald Wallace), Thorburn; Betty (Mrs. Gary Peacock), Ontario; son, Leo Nix, Colbrook, Kings Co.; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her first husband, Churchill Ripley; a son; four brothers; two sisters. Visitation 2-4, 7-9 p.m. today, funeral Tuesday, both in H.W. Angus Funeral Home, New Glasgow. Burial in Thorburn Cemetery. Family flowers only. Donations to Valley View Villa, Riverton, Thorburn Cemetery fund or any charity.
