My family came from Germany after the. U. S. Civil War and most of them settled in Wendelin, Illinois in Jasper County. Christian Frederick Nix born 1818 and died 1877. His wife was Magdalena Weiderspahn born 1818 and died 1878. They had 14 children. There children included : Tectilla Nix Brandt (never came to U.S.), Jacob born 1845 and died 1927 in Louisville, IL, Gertrude born 1847 and died 1903. Julia Ann born 1849 and died 1920 Olney, IL, Josephine b. 1851 and died 1923 (married Philip Claudy and lived in Chicago), Celestine (Silas) born 1853 and died 1932, Susan b. 1855 and died 1944 in Olney, IL. Charles b. 1859 and died 1937 in Olney, IL John Baptist b. 1862 and died 1897. Phillip b. 1866 and died 1922 in Ingraham, IL. If anyone is researching this family, please let me know. Thank you.
