Times-Daily Florence, AL August 2, 1998 Mr. James E. "Jim" Nix, 60, of Lexington, died Saturday, August 1, 1998 at Florence Hospital after a brief illness. Funeral services will be held today (the 3) at 2 p.m. at Nebo Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Officiating at the service will be Ronnie Burgess. Burial will follow in Nebo Cemetery. The casket will be placed in the church one hour before service time. He was employed by Champion Paper for 26 years. He was preceded in death by his father, Sidney E. Nix. He is survived by his wife, Wanda Sue Putnam Nix, Lexington; son, Tim Nix, Lexington; daughter, Tracy Nix, Lexington; mother, Ola Nix, Lexington; sisters, Elizabeth Newton, Sarah Phillips, Lexington, Mary Hughes, Loretto, TN; brothers, Raliegh Eugene Nix, Lexington, Charles Wesley Nix, Athens, AL; his faithful dog, Oscar. Pallbearers will be Terry Springer, Dennis Holden, Jimmy Allen, Wayne Wray, Arlon Springer, Ronnie Sharp, Ronnie Pettus and Mike Martin. Elkins East Chapel, Center Star is directing.
