Doug, I haven't really gotten into genealogy. I just signed up for this mailing list. I don't have much information on my Nix relatives: My Great Grandfather was Joseph Peter Nix (1869-1953). His mother was Penelope Collins. He was married to Rebecca Webb (1871-1911). My Grandfather was John Harrison Nix (1899-1987). He was married to Sallie Armstrong (1896-1981). The thing that I thought was interesting was that my Grandfather's middle name is Harrison and he also was born in AL. I wonder if there's a connection? I'll ask my aunt where my Grandfather's middle name came from. I assume it was a family name, but I've never heard any Harrisons mentioned in the family.
