The Modesto Bee Modesto CA Kathryn S. Nix Feb. 17, 1903 - June 7, 1998 Kathryn S. Nix, 95, of Modesto died Sunday at Evergreen Convalescent Hospital. Mrs. Nix was a native of Chicago. She lived in Modesto three years. She was a homemaker. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Yucaipa. She is survived by her children, Kathi Smith and Ronald Birgel, both of Modesto, Robert Birgel of Lakeside, Stephen Birgel of Wimberly, Texas; and seven grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
