Member of University Ave. Baptist Church. Survived by wife, Mary Nix; daughter, Patricia Newman; granddaughter, Regina M. Phillips and fiance', Sam Phillips; brothers, Homer, Fate, Frank and Mack Nix; sisters, Nancy Cole and Mary Seymour; many nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral service 8 p.m. Wednesday at McCarty Weaver's Chapel, Rev. Jim Canatser officiating. Family and friends will meet at 10:45 a.m. Thursday at Woodlawn Cemetery for an 11 a.m. interment. The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at McCarty Weaver Cumberland Chapel.
