Hi, Sorry it has taken me so long to reply to the requests for my Nix tie. I have been away from school for the holiday weekend. Well, here's my story. I have reached a dead end in our family line. Various family members have been searching for over twenty years to come across our line with no luck. I have been able to make some progress, but not much. The farthest back we can go is my great-great-grandfather, John Valentine Harrison d.1913. John's wife was named Martha, d.1898, but her maiden name has remained a mystery. I have been told by several fellow researchers to try Martha Nix and that is why I subscribed to this list. I have come across several census listings for their children citing that Martha was born in TN and John was born in AL. Unfortunately, this is all that I know. I have been mainly keeping an eye on posts and searching for any listings for a Martha Nix who married a John Harrison. I do also know that their first child was born around 1860 and thei last came in 1878 around Mulberry, AR. Prior to this time I do not know their whereabouts. I have tried everything I can think of except for searching for this Martha. Any suggestions are welcome. The AR soundex that I have access to is too blurry to read, so the census is pretty much out of the question. Sorry there's no more to give. Doug
