Charlotte Observer Charlotte, NC Sunday, February 8, 1998 ROCK HILL, SC -- Mrs. Delma Nix Smith, 65, of 3294 Timothy Drive, died Feb. 4, 1998 at Carolinas Medical Center. A native of Murphy, NC she was a daughter of the late Jess and Litha McClure Nix. Mrs. Smith was the retired owner of Better Maids of Rock Hill and was of the Baptist faith. She was the widow of Chester Haigler. She is survived by her two sons, Glen Chester Haigler and Charles Scott Haigler, both of the home; two daughters, Sandra Spearman of Rock Hill and Judy Church of the home; three brothers, her twin brother, Elmer Nix of Winder, GA, Avery Nix of Murphy, NC and William Nix of Basstown, NC; her sister, Irene Kitchens of Hayesville, NC; and four grandchildren. Funeral is 11 a.m. Saturday at Greene Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. James Gable officiating. Interment will be in Laurelwood Cemetery. Visitation is 7-9 p.m. Friday at Greene Funeral Home and other times at the home, 3294 Timothy Drive, Rock Hill, SC 29730. Greene Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
