Fort Collins Coloradoan Fort Collins, Colorado February 7, 1998 Leonard Nix, 73, of Fort Collins died Thursday, Feb. 5, 1998, at home. A funeral will be held at 1p.m. Monday at Warren-Bohlender Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Billy Sutton will officiate. Interment will be at Grandview Cemetery. Leonard Nix was born Feb. 27, 1924, in Blairsville, Ga., to Marshall Nix and Minnie W. Dyer Nix. He married Genette Nix on Feb. 15,1942, in Cleveland, Ga. Mr. Nix was a line superintendent until retiring after more than 30 years with the Rural Electric Association. He served on the Larimer County Mounted Patrol for more than 20 years. He was a member of the Baptist church. He also was a member of the Professional Rodeo Cowboys. Association and the Senior Professional Rodeo Association. He enjoyed bull riding, training horses and team and calf roping. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, the mountains and streams. Survivors include his wife, Genette Nix of Fort Collins; one son, J.R. Nix of Tigard, Ore.; one brother, Eugene Nix of Wellington; four sisters, Grace Brown and Maxine Tamlin, both of Fort Collins, Mildred Morlock of Aloha, Ore., and Bernice Brewer of Walla Walla, Wash.; two granddaughters; and one great-granddaughter. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Willard Nix.
