My name is Margaret Elizabeth Mintz. My father was Preston Jethro Nix of Gadsden, Alabama; my mother was Jessie Stanfield, also of Gadsden. I had one sister, Marie Eidson, who is now deceased. My father died when I was 3 years old due to burn complications resulting from a house fire. His father was David Nix and his mother was Nancy McClendon. I don't know much about my father's family due to his death during my childhood. I think most of his relatives were from the Altoona area.
