Dear Wanda, I am sorry to hear about your parent's illnesses. I pray that they will be well soon, and I do pray for God's will and the grace to accept it. I enjoy the Nix list. Thanks for doing it. I have a cousin who is married to a Causbie. I know the spelling is different. They are Johnny and Christia Causbie. Their old e-mail address was <ccausbie@beaulib.dtx.net>. However, the last mail I received was from a different #. I'll send it later. Regards, Nadyne FAULKENBERRY Lynn 7311 Cat Creek Lane Amarillo, TX 79108

    3. Dear Wanda and Kathy: I read with great interest the messages on the NIX, TANNER lines. I am trying to prove a connection between my WILLIAM NIX and ANDREW M. NIX. I believe my 2gggrandfather William to be Andrew's son by his first wife, MARGARET TANNER, so I would be interested in the TANNER connection also. Any info would be appreciated. 3. My great grandfather was John Edward NIX, who was born March 9, 1858. My mother told me he was born in Alabama, but his death certificate indicates that he was born in Louisiana (no parish given). He was living in Plaska, Hall County, Texas, at the time of his death on February 20, 1924. John Edward NIX was living in Kaufman County, Texas, in 1898 when my grandfather Lewis Cass NIX was born. He was married to Eliza Jane PRICKETT or PRITCHETT, but I do not know where and when. My grandfather Lewis Cass NIX came to Washita County, Oklahoma, as a young man - perhaps 1916 or 1917. Apparently, the rest of the family stayed in Hall County, Texas, but I assume he was going to live with "family" since he seems to be a little young to be striking out completely on his own. Some of his brothers and sisters were Claude, Paul, J.C., Pearl, Ruby, Jewel, Orv, and Penny, but I know nothing else about them. Someone recently provided me some information on two John NIXes on the 1910 census for Oklahoma. At the time I asked for the information, I thought "my" John Edward NIX had moved to western Oklahoma. Only later, I learned that he remained in Texas and died there in 1924. However, this may be the "family" that my grandfather Lewis Cass NIX went to live with. This is the information I was given: John Nix, 38, born in KY with wife Lula, 35, born in TX, with children, Beulah, 8, born in OK; Leroy, 7, OK; Charley, 4, OK; Pearl, 2, OK; John, age not reported, OK; and stepson, Frank McCroskey, 13, TX. This family was living in Washita Co in 1910, E.D. 263, Family # 171. John Nix, 56, born in KY, living with his wife Mary, 62, born in IN also in Washita Co., E.D. 270, Family #258. (Could he possibly be the father of the other John?) I would like to add my name to this list of people looking for information about John and/or Edward NIX in Oklahoma or Texas. Thanks, Alan Newton

    3. In a message dated 98-03-24 07:42:04 EST, you write: << your JOHN EDWARD NIX, b. 9 March 1858, was the son of JOEL ROSS NIX and ELIZABETH SMITH. >> Nadyne, I am interested in this Joel Ross Nix and his wife Elizabeth Smith. They are about the same age as my Cisro Valentine Nix and his wife Cynthia R. Smith. Did they by any chance come from Ga. and/or Ala.? On the 1850 Census of Cherokee Co., Ga., I found a John Nix living near Cisro Valentine Nix and I have always felt this was his father. Any chance your Joel Ross Nix and my Cisro Valentine Nix could be brothers. And maybe their wives sisters? My Cynthia R. Smith was the daughter of Edward J. Smith (b. 1808 SC) and his wife Elizabeth. Let me know if you think Joel Ross Nix and Cisro Valentine Nix are from the same family. Chris Rodriguez
