    3. Dear Nixes, My ancestor, Elijah Nix (born ca. 1790; died ca. 1848), died before the 1850 census was taken, making research more difficult. In 1850 census his children were living with various families in Catahoula Parish, LA. How does he tie in with Edward Nix and wife Eunice Gibson Nix Veneable, if at all? Elijah Nix and Elijah Hammock were executors/administrators for the estate of an Edward Nix, 20 July 1816, in Twiggs Co., Georgia. Who was this Edward Nix? The children of Elijah Nix and unknown wife were: Allen Nix (1815-before 1848) m. #1 Sarah A. Routon & #2 Mary A. McCornick Edward Nix (1817-1862) m. Jane Perry Avy Nix (d. before 1848) Martha M. Nix (1822- ?) m. Drury M. Prichard Thomas D. Nix (1824-1877) m. Manerva Kincaid Joel Ross Nix (1826-1910) m. #1 Elizabeth Smith & #2 Mary A. Muirhead James Robert Nix (1828-19098) m. #1 Sarah Ann Haines & #2 Martha Childs Sarah Ann Nix (1832- ?) m. John Hair William Heflin (1834-1905) m. Mary Grayson Herlong Saphronia Elizabeth Nix (1837- ?) m. Samuel Bedgood Would love to correspond with anyone working on this line or who has information concerning it. Thanks!
