He came to America about 1690, landing in Philledalphia, but did not like Ameirca and went to New York to catch a ship back to England, but met Joanna Reeder, and they married in 1692 and built the first brick house in the Trenton, NJ area. The old home still stands on the campus of Trenton College. The Amos Green you mention was born about 1778 in Rowan County, North Carolina and married Elizabeth Searcy about 1796. She died October 13, 1854 and Amos died January 6, 1857 both in Cherokee County, Georgia. Amos was the son of Richard and Eleanor Sullivan Green mentioned above. Chattanooga Free Press Chattanooga TN May 24, 1998 LUCY KEITH DALTON, Ga. - Lucy Nix Keith died Saturday, May 23, 1998, at her home. She was 65. She was a native of Jackson County, Ala. Survivors include one daughter, Betty Etheridge of Dalton; two sons, James Nix of Dalton, and Johnny Nix of tunnel Hill, Ga.; two sisters, Ollie Norwood of Pisgah, Ala., and Hazel Mashburn of Lookout Mountain, Tenn.; two brothers, Arthur Black of Section, Ala., and Irvin Black of Tunnel Hill, Ga.; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at the Julian Peeples Funeral Home in Dalton, with the Rev. Roy Gentry and Johnny Nix officiating. Burial will be in the Dogwood Valley Cemetery. The family will receive friends today after 3 p.m. at the funeral home.

To Randall Fields: I have a William Nicks/Nix from 1850 Pontotoc Co., MS census. Says born SC, 42 years of age (put him in abt. 1808), abt the same age as your William Nix Jr. b. GA 1809. My William Nix died in Pontotoc Co. in about 1854. Do you have further info on this man? Couldn't find Nixes on your surname list on your webpage. William Nix is my 3rd great grandfather.
