Charles -- thanks for your response, but I see no connection to the Michigan Smiths...... JW -- my GEORGE A. SMITH is listed as the only relative to LEONORA PACKARD in IGI records............ LEONORA PACKARD was born about 1791 in supposedly Conn., but could have been Vermont.....She married Richard Loomis in 1812 and died in supposedly Madrid, St. Lawrence Co, N.Y. in abt 1869, but can find no cemetary records........ Recently heard from a PICARD researcher and we were looking into the possibility that GEORGE A. SMITH possibly could be GEORGE A. desFORGES dit PICARD who was aka GEORGE A SMITH......His father Israel was born in 1870 so that would put him in the same age bracket as Leonora......perhaps they were cousins -- just a long shot, but you never know............ Does any of this match up to your Smiths or Picards????? Juanita
