Sorry, I know this e-mail is old I am responding to but it got lost in my inbox! : ) Yes, Chuck Rix is one of the original Robinsons that settled in Michigan. He and his brother Edward (my line) came to Michigan from New York. There is quite a bit on him online. Both brothers are buried in Ada, Michigan just outside Grand Rapids. What is your Robinson line in Michigan? Nancy in Michigan I keep hearing about Rix Robinson. Was he one of the original Robinsons in Michigan? Thanks, Chuck Robinson
Seth Robinson is my great-grandfather and I have exactly no information on him. He married an woman by the name of Chloe Bedor (could be Bedard) from Quebec and they immigrated to Montcalm County before 1880. Robinson was supposedly of Scotch ancestry but there is no proof of this matter. Bedor was either a Metis or a full-blooded Native. I also have Smiths from Ionia County, but I have little information on them except Alice Smith's signature on a marriage license from 1873 from Clare County. The Smiths were Oneidas from New York state. Alice's name appears on the original rolls for the tribe-my employer.
