Thanks, I used the info from there for the time being until I see proof that its the other way. I always had that feeling that the one married to Frances wasn't Emmas father...Thanks! My info shows that Frances Navarre was born September 05, 1832, and that Emma DeGraff was born November 25, 1843, so it's unlikely Frances was Emma's mother. I've wondered if Frances Navarre was married to Emma's brother (John) but have found no confirmation of this. A website listing Indiana Civil War Soldiers 1861 to 1865, http://jerry.vigo.lib.in.us/civilwar/015notes.htm, shows that Private Frank Ralph DeGraff (b.10/14/1835 in Burlington, Vermont, d. 5/21/1911 in South Bend, Indiana) was the son of John Baptiste DeGraff and Mary Salois. His siblings are listed as John B. DeGraff, Joseph DeGraff, Nelson DeGraff, Mary DeGraff Barnard, Julia DeGraff Emery, and Emma DeGraff Chandonia. I am descended from Emma through her daughter Henrietta "Hattie." Hattie was my mother's maternal grandmother. I'd appreciate any leads on this, since all I have at this point is speculation. Judy
