    2. I think it is "suspect" of most tribes because of the vast amount in indian genealogy in recent years. It hasn't been too long ago, my grandmother died in 1983, that being mix blood or having any indian blood was something that one did not speak of outside the immediate family! Just a thought , the door swings both ways. My DNA is indian blood but consider myself Metis or mixed blood. The moment you start talking in quantums things get a little hazy. As an example, my adult children and my grandchildren, have taken on their maternal ancestry, often speak of "my ancestors" although they are my biological children! They look in the mirror and don't see any indian (they all have indian blood/DNA) but want to be considered caucasion. So you may be proud and have a strong interest in indian culture, not everyone shares that enthusiasm. It is unfortunate but racisim is alive and well . The "carpetbaggers" have also taken a toll on indian relations too. Remember the Tribes are a sovereign Nation onto themselves. Public relations may not be their top priority at the moment of the inquiry. There maybe more pressing issues. Just my own opinion, not disagreeing with anyone , learning from my own experience passing it along.
