Much of the interest in Native American issues/study/genealogy is stymied when the people at the various reservations will not bother to answer or even acknowledge receiving letters or emails. I am only 5/128ths Native American, so they sure don't have to worry about my wanting tribal membership or a share in any tribal monies. I have been told that the tribal officers are very hesitant to communicate with anyone until they get to know them, but how do you get to know them if they won't communicate? It would be nice to at least get an email saying that they don't know. I have not even been able to get an answer about an annual Pow Wow that I would like to attend. I realize that everyone is busy and maybe they don't have the time, but it would be nice if the reservations could have one person in charge of answering this type of communication. That's my "steam" release..............
