An interesting online newsletter celebrating Native America is Canku Ota. It can be found at www.turtletrack.org that has first person histories among featured articles. It covers many different tribes. I found a genealogy 10 part history of Fr. Phillip Gordon, first Chippewa Catholic priest in America, in the first person history section. He told of his family history with his grandfather Jean Baptiste Gaudin/Gordon in LaPointe. Also had his mothers history Dingley back a couple of generations also. Had various other articles covering Cadottes, Johnsons & sidelight to the 1854 Treaty of LaPointe. Found my great, great grandfather mentioned in that article as a little indian boy that was an artist, which I had no idea of, even showed a picture he drew that belonged to Ms Harriet Wheeler.
