    3. In answer to your question: Gould City, MI (Mackinac County) was founded in 1886 by Sam Stiles, grocery storekeeper and named the town after another lumberman. The Gould City Post Office was established on September 26, 1888 with Adolph Highstone as its first postmaster. In checking postmaster records that served the Gould City Post Office over the many years, I find no Gould's listed as postmaster to present date. Sorry I couldn't be of more help. I do hope that you find your ancestors. Sometimes this can be a trying and flustrating journey........keep at it you'll come up with something! I wonder if they had anything to do with the naming of Gould City. ============================== Find your ancestors in the Birth, Marriage and Death Records. New content added every business day.
