I have no idea what the name is- I just have it down as Mon din iash. It cuts off after that- but his wife Angelique (Andeg) traces back to John St.John & Mosie Buffalo- then her dad- Old Chief Buffalo. I think when I got this family tree they messed up on Mosie though- I have researched and I have never found a Mosie Buffalo- I think they meant Rosie. I am a direct lineal decendant to Buffalo on my moms side. Jennifer At 07:35 AM 9/22/2003 -0500, you wrote: >Is the Mon din iash Catherine Bazinet? Hello- Excuse me if this is inappropriate for this listserve, but I am looking for information on "Bessie Cook" from Bad River Wisconsin Reservation. She was my grandmother. I believe her name was Bessie Connor or Connors. She had 6 children, one Mabel Mercer, Roger Cook, David Cook and I do not know the rest of their names. I was not raised by my maternal or paternal family and only found my family roots when I was 25. I am quite sure she is on the tribal roles. Dave Cook is my father but he is either drunk or dead in Washington State and I could never get info from him where he was born because he always wanted money for that and then I lost contact with him. My mother and paternal aunts and uncles are all based in Minneapolis. I have kept contact and talk to my real mother, Lorraine Boswell Lufkins all the time, but she does not know too much about my father's side of the family. I'd really like to piece together my family. It's kind of odd to know who my real mother and father are but not to be recognized by anyone officially that they are my mother and father. I still am stuck with my adoptive family's birth certificate. I have been estranged from the adoptive family after a falling out since 1984. I'd really like to be recognized as who I was when I was born for my children's sake. I look like an indian and am an indian. I am sort of stuck, still not having my real name of Jane Bessie Cook due to sealed adoption records. I was hoping someone could help me find some help or someone to help me in getting things straightened out for my children's sake. I have 4 children who need to know and understand their roots. Well, please write me if you have info and thank in advance. You can look at my picture here.don't I look like a chippewa?
