Looking for parents of Greg Yon and Sarah Lazwiel. (Could there be another spelling?) Cannot determine the nationality. Their daughter, Mary Yon, married Charles O'Neill 4 Sept 1901 in Brimley,MI. The Charles O'Neill lineage has already been researched. Mainly looking for the Yon/Lazwiel. Most likely the area of Sault Ste. Marie, MI and Ontario. Any help appreciated. Boozhoo fellow listers, I was going thru a few of the stored sites in my favorites & came across these..Maybe someone can use them & the info they offer. The first is the BLM, Bureau of Land Management. They have land & patent info here.. www.glorecords.blm.gov This 2nd site is great.. http://digital.library.okstate.edu/kappler It's Kapplers Indian Affairs, Laws & Treaties. The only thing missing are the actual signatures or "marks" of the Chiefs. An "X " is shown & then the name of said person/persons. I've printed out all the treaties with regards my line, Chief Anse/Ance/Ens/Ains..Hope it can be of some help to someone. But it sure is sad to see all the lands the Gov't took, and how unfair it was. Baamaapii, Theresa "Teri" Pete & Teri Black 4 Winds Ranch Quemado, NM 4windsnm@gilanet.com

Etta Pennock married an unknown Cross and had 2 children, Agnes and Earl Cross, probably in either Michigan or Wisconsin. I feel like it was more than likely Wisconsin, since my uncle and aunt knew them and they were raised in Wisconsin. I would like to get a name for this unknown Cross and maybe a birth date for Etta. Dear "Cobban" No one can give you intelligent advice without a bit of information from you. Names? Places? Dates? The normal place to begin is with yourself and your parents, then work backward to grandparents, great-grandparents and as far back as the records will take you. If, as you imply, you believe you connect to Lac du Flambeau, why do you believe this? Give us something to work with and we'll be glad to help as much as we can. There is a fair amount of documentation available for Lac du Flambeau (annuity rolls, census rolls etc) so your quest is by no means hopeless. Bud Canada West seems to be Ontario at that time. Today it is more Alberta and Saskatchewan. A bare name and birth date is not much for anyone to go. Do you have more info that others may work from! This is for Dodi The index shows letters from James Morrison and William Morrison Also listed are John Morison, D. Morris, T. Morris, Mr. Morrison, Capt. A. Morrison, Col. James Morrison, Robert Morrison, Jeremiah Morrow and Lt. William Morrow. There is a listing for Col. James McPherson and for McPherson's Camp. Let me know if any of these sound like your people. Curt (Curtis Benoit Londroche) ********** I have two names if you would be so kind as to look up: Morisseau (or sound a likes, spelled lots of ways) and McPherson. Thank you in advance, Dodi
I have a set of books titled "Document Transcriptions of the War of 1812 in the Northwest". The books are mimeographed sheets, bound and published by the Ohio Historical Society in 1962 It is a 10 volume set, and has transcribed copies of many letters and other documents sent during the war. I have to get them out of my store room before I can do lookups, but I am willing to do so. I do have the name index available now. NO, it is NOT for sale, but I will do lookups. It will take a couple of weeks or so because I am in the middle of planning my daughters wedding. I CAN let you know right away if your ancestor is listed or not. Curt (Curtis Benoit Londroche)
