My g/g/grandparents were farmers in Glendavagh County Tyrone they were there from at least1856 to 1888 when he died and I can't find any family members there after that as all the children seem to have immigrated. What I can't figure is they are not on the Griffiths Valuation done 1860 The marriages of the children were in Aughnacloy Presbyterian church. I have proof from Presbyterian Historical Society that g/g/ grand dad attended this church with other family members But he is not on the valuation as either a tenant or landowner He died aged 80 on his death certificate g/g/grandmother died aged 63 They were Theophilus and Margaret McCollum 3 sons John, Alexander and Theophilus this would point to a naming pattern as 3rd son named after his father Daughters Margaret and Martha John married Hannah Hamilton of Drummond, Margaret and Theophilus all migrated to Australia, Martha remained in Ireland (or so it seems) and married Joseph Cherry Alexander my g grandfather married Sarah Sheppard and migrated to New Zealand. Sarah's mother Sarah is on Griffiths Valuation leasing 2 lots she was the widow of Benjamin Sheppard stonemason. I have never found him Anybody any clues..... I would love to hear them Patricia New Zealand
