My GGGGfather, Arthur Johnston, immigrated from Newton Stewart to Philadelphia in about 1845 and I cannot find any information about him or his family before this date. He had nine children, one was named William and one was named Elizabeth. When I saw the names Elizabeth and William in your post, I thought there might be a chance of our families being connected, although I suspect they were both common manes to have. One brother had an uncommon name, which may ring a bell with someone--his first name was Kelso. I would appreciate hearing from you if you have more information on your Elizabeth, and also from anyone reading this post who might have information on these Johnstons--Arthur, William, Elizabeth or Kelso.
