He was Catholic. He was my gggg-grandfather. His origin in Strabane is supported historically by use of name 'Strabane' for name of farm in New Jersey by a probable co-emigrant. Also, as a lineal male ancestor, he presumably shared my Y-DNA record, which has been tested to be that of 'Niall of the Nine Hostages'. The 'Niall' record has a frequency approaching 10-20% among males in the vicinity of modern Strabane. Contacts appreciated. More information about Dr. Richard Collins is in my ancestry file at http://worldconnect.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=GET&db=garyscottcollins&id=I112549580. More information about the Y-DNA record is at http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~garyscottcollins/dna.htm. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
