See if dates are helpful. The farthest back I can go is to Denis Cournane and Mary Murphy who married in 1840 in Killarney records. Their children would be Patrick (b. 1851), Bridget (b.1843), Daniel (b.1848), Elizabeth (b.1854), John (b. 1845), Ellen (b. 1858), Mary (b.1841) and Anne (b. 1861). I believe Cournane was likely anglicized to Courtney on emigration as dates match for the 3 children who came to Worcester. Mary married Michael Counihan in Worcester and died in 1891. Anne married William Horan in Worcester and was still alive in 1930. Ellen remained single as far as anyone knows and died in Worcester in 1939. It would make sense if other siblings came over.
