Actually this is an outgrowth of the first Tyrone website that went up in 1995 and carried the USGenWeb banner. It was sponsored by USGW because at that time IGW had not until later in early 1996 started. But it jumped around a bit, sponsored by IGW, then taken by NIGW, then sponsored by SIR then back to me where it was sponsored by IGP. So though the sponsorship jumped around, the mission of the Tyrone website did not. Now I spend as much time on it as I can while keeping an eye out for a very good County Coordinator to finish building the site. My main site is Roscommon IGP and interests are supporting the Ireland Genealogy Project Archives. Consequently I wish I could spend a lot more time on those two projects. I wasn't involved in NIGW at all and, in retrospect, they carried a lot of baggage in negative PR, and way too much politics as well, and just never got started the way it should have. One cannot have a north ireland website and delve into north ireland politics too.....it just doesn't work. Is that the other Tyrone website you speak of, or a newer one I don't yet know about? Am I still a part of the group researching Co.
