Probably in PA. Married previously with children. Previous wife's name may also have been Elizabeth. He then married Elizabeth (Meadville) McConnell who was the widow of Alexander McConnell. They were married on 23 Jan 1870. She was born in PA then moved to IA then back to PA after marriage to Farrell. After his death moved back to Iowa and married a William Brown Hall.
