Hi Listers, I am fairly new to research into IRISH ancestry, with my previous line having been mostly Scottish. BUT now the censuses from Glasgow point to this family having their births in Ireland, and I have received information from another correspondent with the same family-line who believes that they were all born at DUNGANNON in county TYRONE. This info seems to have been passed down as family 'memory'. Here are their names and approx. birth-years as derived from the censuses:- JOHN KERR - probably born 1790 -1795 MARY KERR - born 1791-94 .................her maiden-name was BOICE And the children:- - JAMES KERR born 1815/16 - ELIZA KERR born 1820/21 - ISABELLA KERR born 1822/23 - JANE KERR born 1824/25 - JOHN KERR born 1828/29 - MARY A. KERR born 1830/31 I do not know what Church records there may be from Dungannon at this period, but I am hoping someone may have access to them to be able to find whether any of this KERR family are baptized there? I do know that when they reached Glasgow, this family was very strongly in the Protestant/ Episcoplian religious tradition, not Catholic, so I guess this would indicate what church records would be applicable. ALTERNATIVELY, there may be listers out there who recognize this actual family fro their own line, and can give me more information about them.
