Norman Hilliard, from Enniskillen - whose late father, Thomas, originally of Trillick, was a G.N.R. guard - will also join in the commemorations. Thomas Hilliard, born in 1895, enjoyed working on the railways throughout his career, having served for over 40 years. He mainly worked from Bundoran Junction at Kilskeery to Bundoran and back again. A few years prior to retirement, Thomas worked from Enniskillen to Omagh and from Enniskillen to Clones. Thomas was working on the railways when he met his late wife, Emma, and the family lived at Kilskeery before moving to Enniskillen in 1953. The Hilliards had two children: Norman and the late Vera. Norman recalls his experiences of rail travel and he remembers travelling from Bundoran Junction to Enniskillen during the years, 1944 to 1953. Norman and his fellow passengers, who are planning to stop off at quite a few stations during Saturday's G.N.R. bus journey, are due to pay a visit to Bundoran Junction, which has been the Simmons' home for about 20 years. The stationhouse, a listed building, looks just the same as it was in its railways' heyday. Renovation work was undertaken in recent years........
