I am new to this list. I am trying to locate information on this family: Hugh McManus wife: Hannah of Anna Dillon son: John b. May 7 1870 or 1871 daughter: Mary b. Dec 11 1867 son: Patrick b. I just found another child of Hugh McManus and Hannah Dillon. IGI record shows Thomas McManus born July 9 1877 in Altnaneagh, Tyrone, Ireland. I can't seem to find anything on Altnaneagh. A Google search brings up nothing. Can someone tell me if this is miss-spelled; or if it ever existed. If so, what area is it now? From a look at the IGI, John and Patrick's births were extracted from the civil registration of the birth. I suggest you order the microfilm referenced for each of them and go to the original entry. That entry will give you the townland of birth and may provide other helpful information. The record for Thomas' birth may have been submitted by someone who misstyped the townland name.
