I'm trying to trace any possible Cohoun/Colhoun connections in Buncrana, Donegal. My husband's great-grandmother, we believe, was named Sara(h) Cohoun, and she was born in Donegal in 1864/65. She married a butcher named Michael Barr, and they married and lived in Greenock, Glasgow, Scotland, where they had two girls, Sarah (my husband's grandmother) and Cecelia. Sarah Cohoun Barr died in childbirth, and Michael and the girls moved back to Donegal. He later remarried and had a family, but the girls shuttled back and forth between Donegal and Glasgow. Sarah married Edward Doherty in 1925 and raised their two boys in Paisley, Glasgow. Any connection to your Cohouns/Calhouns?
