Bartholemew, Gloedice McCUTCHEON / Miss Elizabeth ELDER, all of Peters ville (Queens Co.)." New Brunswick Courier, Saint John: N.B., September 1 1849 Birth of Catherine McCutcheon Jerusalem: Jerusalem Circuit, general information, 1854-1953 Microfilm # - F10239. Catherine McCutcheon was listed as being born 8 January, 1847, Father: Glaud McCutcheon and Mother: Catherine Monteith. This record was sent to me by Rob Gilmore, who is the Archivist for the Provincial Archives of New Brunswick. For some reason, I can not find the record. I will have to do a more extensive search of my belongings. Addendum: It is entirely possible that this Catherine and my Catherine are not the same. It was quite regular for parents to name their children after dead brothers/sisters. This is also a problem because of the numerous Catherines in this family. Mother, Aunt, and Grandmother to name a few. Here is some evidence of that. In her death record in Maine, Annie Douglass is listed as having died in Marion, Maine from consumption on Feb. 5, 1911. It states that she was 61 years, 8 months and 14 days old. It lists her father as Glandus McCutcheon and mother as Mary L. Elder, both of Northern Ireland. Her father's occupation is listed as farmer. Her husband is listed as Chas. Douglass. Your 1871 Census birthdate seems to correspond with the 1881 Census, Petersville, p10, hh40, where Charles Douglas (25) is living with his wife Catherine A. Douglas (30). Charles' birth year is certainly wrong as this would have placed his birth in 1856. As far as I know, he was born 8 Aug 1851.
