George Whitfield the gunsmith is my great-great-great grandfather. I've inherited my mother's family history records researched in the 1980s and I am currently organising it all. Unfortunately it's not researched back to his parent's generation in Northern Ireland so I don't know his parents or siblings. I do have more Australian information than what is currently online. I have a photograph of him with two of his two daughters taken shortly before he died. I also have some certificates with some of the information. His nephew William John Whitfield inherited from him so yes he is related to William John Whitfield and I am currently trying to work out how. I think this makes the two Maria Prudence Whitfields born 1844 and 1848 cousins of some sort but I'm not sure yet. He could well be related to the Prudence you mentioned because the name is a bit unusual. I don't have much spare time for research but I'm happy to pass on what information I have.
