    1. [NIR-TYRONE] C of I Cemeteries - PRONI Microfilm No?
    2. E Macklin
    3. Hello list: I have just finished listing the over 50 C of I cemeteries for Co Tyrone including the names of the Parishes and Diocese plus a half dozen "union" cemeteries at the end. The cemetery list was derived from the History on Headstones cemetery map for Co Tyrone with the parishes and diocese from a Co Tyrone web site. Nothing new only in that it was just for the one group for study purposes. Frankly I was surprised there were so many, both large and small, and that so many have never been surveyed. What survey work that was done was cursory at best whether it was by JDS Clarke [hope I got the initials right] and of course the Journals of the Memorials to the Dead all completed about 100 years ago. This is fine even for the closed cemeteries as the study period is from 1830 to 1865. Now then: -- Q: in searching cemetery records as an adjunct to the Burial Registers what exactly is it that PRONI has that one can look at to see who is buried and where? Q: are the PRONI church Burial records in alphabetical order by name or parish, or church or diocese, or cemetery and/or by County? Q: what are the microfilm numbers for whatever it is that they have? Eric

Most, perhaps all, of the children were born in Garvallagh. Francis had a first cousin, Frank McWilliams, b. 1866, one of 10 children of Francis McWilliams and Anne McVeigh of Fintona. Unknown if the cosuins' fathers were brothers, their mothers were sisters or both. Neither family had a John. My mom's paternal grandfather is John McWilliams, b. 1840 but his association with Bradleys, Blaneys and Dagneys makes it likely he came from Co. Derry (Maghera, Magherafelt or Desertmartin the best candidates). Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. See if dates are helpful. The farthest back I can go is to Denis Cournane and Mary Murphy who married in 1840 in Killarney records. Their children would be Patrick (b. 1851), Bridget (b.1843), Daniel (b.1848), Elizabeth (b.1854), John (b. 1845), Ellen (b. 1858), Mary (b.1841) and Anne (b. 1861). I believe Cournane was likely anglicized to Courtney on emigration as dates match for the 3 children who came to Worcester. Mary married Michael Counihan in Worcester and died in 1891. Anne married William Horan in Worcester and was still alive in 1930. Ellen remained single as far as anyone knows and died in Worcester in 1939. It would make sense if other siblings came over. Do you know parents or birth year for Daniel? Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. 1. Re: [NIR-TYRONE] Altnaneagh, Tyrone-- McManus Family
    2. From a look at the IGI, John and Patrick's births were extracted from the civil registration of the birth. I suggest you order the microfilm referenced for each of them and go to the original entry. That entry will give you the townland of birth and may provide other helpful information. The record for Thomas' birth may have been submitted by someone who misstyped the townland name. The civil records are likely to be more accurate. -----Original Message----- From: mayhem <mayhem@infowest.com> To: nir-tyrone@rootsweb.com Sent: Sun, 18 Nov 2007 12:50 pm Subject: [NIR-TYRONE] Altnaneagh, Tyrone-- McManus Family I just found another child of Hugh McManus and Hannah Dillon.
