    1. [NIR-TYRONE] Irish Administrative District Map - Update
    2. Murray Lynn
    3. I have just uploaded a new version of the old Ulster Parish Map application. Click the link at the bottom of this email. The new page is almost entirely new code. This map shows the locations of Administrative Divisions in Ireland as of about 1851 (except for modern Councils) - see the map "Help" for further details. * It should be faster on most systems * It provides a more flexible and a hopefully simpler way of selecting an item * It provides more information on a place - click the icon to open the pop-up window and then on "Click Here for more Information" * It provides an open ended structure to add more information for future expansion * It has an expanded help - click the help button at the top * It now shows markers for the locations of places with no boundary maps At this time, the information is incomplete. The current status is: Division Northern Ireland Republic of Ireland Provinces All Names and Markers All Names and Markers Counties All Names and Markers All Names and Markers PLUs All Names and Markers All Names Councils All Names and Markers All Names and Markers Baronies All Names and Markers All Names RC Parishes na na Civil Parishes All Names, Markers and Borders Townlands Some Names, Markers and Borders where: * Names: The Names of these Administrative Divisions are included in the database * Markers: The central positions of these Divisions are marked with an Icon * Border: The border maps of these Divisions are available I am very interested in hearing your feedback on the new version. -- Kind Regards Murray Christchurch New Zealand Visit us at KiwiCelts.com <http://kiwicelts.com> * Cemeteries of New Zealand - Map, List and Web-links * Parishes of Northern Ireland - Map * Our Family History -- Kind Regards Murray Christchurch New Zealand Visit us at KiwiCelts.com <http://kiwicelts.com> * Cemeteries of New Zealand - Map, List and Web-links * Parishes of Northern Ireland - Map * Our Family History

    1. [NIR-TYRONE] Thomas and Elizabeth "Bessie" McFarland
    2. I have records indicating that Thomas McFarland died on February 12, 1891 in Drumharvey, County Tyrone and was buried February 28, 1891 in the Irvinestown Graveyard, Irvinestown, County Fermanagh. The records also indicate that his wife Elizabeth "Bessie" Gormley McFarland died March 3, 1887 and was buried in the same graveyard March 28, 1887. I would appreciate it if anyone who lives in the vicinity of this graveyard would see if they can locate their tombstones. I would like to know if there are birth dates listed on the tombstones. This is information that I am missing in my genealogy of the McFarland family. Regards, Robert McFarland Carmel Valley, California

Author: ker17moh Surnames: ralston Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.britisles.ireland.tyr.general/6537/mb.ashx Message Board Post: My GGG GF was John Ralston (b. 1805-14). He had a sister Nancy (b. 1810) and a brother William (b. 1818). ALl 3 were born in Washington County, Pennsylvania. How many children in total is unknown. Their parents were both from Northern Ireland, being Scot-Irish. It is unknown if they were married before or after coming to America. On a shiplist for the Strafford in 1803 there is a Robert Ralston who is 19. Then, in 1810 there is a Robert Ralston in Washington Co, PA, and again in 1820 but disappears after that. I believe he moved to Monroe Co, OH. However, this is simple speculation. The information I am seeking is the actual age of the Robert Ralston who immigrated to America in 1803. Based on the years that the first generation American Ralstons were, their father must have been born about 1780-1785. This Robert fits that profile. Any information or guidance is appreciated more than you could know. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. 2. Dave Mitchell
    3. Hello Boyd Anyone with an interest or connection? Alexander Kerr and Caldwell Kerr, twin brothers, were born at or near Londonderry on 14 February 1814. - Alexander Kerr died at Drumenny, Donagheady parish, co. Tyrone, on 12 October 1885 (listed in Griffiths 1858). Was married twice: (1) Agnes Knox, (born ca. 1819, died 12 September 1849, aged 30 years), daughter of Hugh Knox, of Urney, co. Tyrone; (2) Catherine McGuire of Lower Cumber (marriage licence dated 24 April 1850). - Caldwell Kerr emigrated to Hillsboro, Highland County, Ohio, U.S.A., ca. 1843, where he died on 26 October 1893. Was married three times and outlived them all. (1) Married firstly at Londonderry on 3 September 1839 to Elizabeth (or Eliza) Jane Kirk (who was born at Londonderry, on 11 November 1818, "daughter of the late Mr Matthew Kirk, Waterside, [Londonderry]" and his wife, Jane (?) Steele; (2) at Highland, Ohio, on 26 April 1853, to Eliza Jane Pogue (born Londonderry, ca. 1818, died ca. 1855); (3) at Highland, Ohio, on 21 October 1856, to Esther Jane Eckley Their father was (Rev.?) Robert Kerr, of Drumenny, parish of Donagheady, co. Tyrone, born ca. 1782, died at Drumenny on Friday 6 December 1846 "in his 65th year" (per the Derry Journal of 11 December 1846). Married to Elizabeth Caldwell. In turn, his father was probably the Robert Kerr of Drumenny, whose will was proved ca. 1828 ("Robert Kerr, Drimaony, Donagheady - will proven 1828"). My name is Birgitta Nilsson and I am living in Sweden. I am trying to find my mothers grandfather's background in Ireland. I am searching for a Susan (ne) Irwin(e) and her husband John Moran working as a gardener in northern Ireland and Ireland. I have found her in a passagerlist for US: Arrival Date: 9 Sep 1896 Age: 50 years Estimated Birth Year: 1846 Gender: Female Port of Departure: Londonderry, Ireland Ship Name: Peruvian Port of Arrival: Boston, Massachusetts Friend's Name: Irwin Moran Last Residence: Belfast Microfilm Roll Number: 22 also Emily Florence Moran age 18 infant Erwin Moran age 11 months Susan says going to "son Irwin Moran in Beverley, Mass". Emily and infant Erwin say going to "brother Irwin in Beverley Mass. The spelling of the infant "Erwin", is as shown in the record. My Susan Irwin and John Moran got their first child George Moran in Cookstown 21th of December 1869(in civil registration 1:573 1870) with mother Susan Irvine and father John Moran. Their next son Irvine (Irwin) was born 25 th of January 1872 in Bryanstown, Ardee, Ireland(my mothers grandfather). I know they got at least two girls more. Carolina "Carry" Moran born in Kildare, Ireland the 24:th of February 1875 with mother Susan Irwin and father John Moran and Emily Florence Moran born 4th of February 1878 in Omagh, Tyrone in Northern Ireland(Omagh volym 2 pg 307). I have a picture of two of Irwins sistera and also one of Irwin Moran born 1872 I haven't found the wedding registration for Susan Irwin and John Moran and can not go longer back so-is there anyone that can help me with any information about those people? There is a Susanna Irwin born 23th July 1841 with father David and a Susan Irwin born 15th February 1841 with father Tomas. Can one of those girls be the Susan (ne) Irwin(e) I am looking for? Can it be Susan Irwin with father Tomas or David that is "my" Susan Irwin? Greetings from Birgitta Nilsson Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
