Again, what is available on the web is minimal compared to what is in the Casey books, and there is a lot from Glenflesk that I didn't get into. I Supect the answer may be there. It may turn out that all of us are connected if we go back far enough; surely there is a reason so many of the Kerry Courtneys ended up in Worcester. Thanks for your help; will see if anything else turns up. Eileen Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. I remember when the carin was open, as was Newgrange and Tara, but feel that closing it now is the best thing to keep it for future generations. The problem is at my age there won't be any more trips back and I will just have to live with my memories. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. There is none in Killarney. My Daniel's father is Denis. There is also no Daniel or Denis in Glenfesk. Is it possible we are the same family? I have been trying to google these areas and they all seem like part of greater Killarney. I'm not 100% sure but the Glenfesk, Coolies and Tiernaboul appear to be very close to each other.I can't find a Hannah Healy on ancestry.com in census but I'll keep looking. I found Mary Courtney's record on NEHGS. I also found Horan's in 1930 census. I was trying to see if any lived close to my family but no luck yet. I will keep trying to figure everything out. If I discover any connects I'll post. Best,Colleen Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. I have never been to an LDS library. I need to locate one and check into the films. I know 3 or 4 of the children were on their site online with baptism dates. My own great Ellen and her sister Hannah were not. I have been to the links you sent for other ancestors but not having exact locale made the Courtney's difficult. There were a lot of Daniel's!!! Now I can re-check Griffith's and Tithes. I've been on the Kerry email list and heard of the Casey Collection. I now know that it will be a big help especially already knowing the exact locale. Again many thanks. Merry Christmas, Colleen Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Sadly, I think my Cournanes came from Cooles - so probably this a different branch. The reference I sent came from my notes from Volumes 7 & 8 of the O'Kief text. My punctation is not the best, so you may want to check the original text for clarification. If you live in a big city, your library may have a copy of the O'Kief books OR you can send for the film through your local family history library. There is MUCH MORE information on the LDS film of the O'Kief text than is available on line through the LDS! Birth data for each child, for example, may include occupations of the parents, names of sponsors, etc. If time is of the essence, be sure to check out Griffith's valuation and these three websites if you have not already: http://www.rootsweb.com/~irlker/index.html and http://www.failteromhat.com and http://www.cmcrp.net/Kerry/ Good Luck! P.S. There is a Hannah Healy who witnessed my Mary Courtney's wedding at St. Johns in Worcester. Could she be part of your Healy family? Thanks! This is the record of my great-great grandparents. I only had Daniel's mother as Donoghue and no parents for Julia Healy. I am planning a trip to Ireland and I'm scrambling to get as much data as possible. You have just made my job easier. I didn't know you had responded further on the boards until I got an email today letting me know someone responded to a post. I've posted lots of messages on different boards so I don't check them all that often(I rarely get replies). I always ask to be notified if I get responses. I'm sure glad I got your post. You have really helped my search and saved me some steps. Are you related to this Courtney line? I don't recognize any of the other names posted by you but they are similar to Courtney names in my line. I really am sorry I never replied to other posts. I ask to be notified but the posts from Nov. 19 did not kick off an email to me, sorry I always respond to queries. Words can't express how grateful I am for the data. I'm sure you know how happy I am right now to have another piece of the puzzle and one that fits in so nicely!!! I now have some exploring to do on locales and names in the record thanks to you. Hi did any of your McFarlanes /mcfarlands haave Hugh McFarlanes? Mary ======================================== Message Received: Dec 06 2007, 04:35 PM From: RBMLIONSB@aol.com To: rootsweb.com@mail.rootsweb.com Cc: Subject: [NIR-TYRONE] Thomas and Elizabeth "Bessie" McFarland I have records indicating that Thomas McFarland died on February 12, 1891 in Drumharvey, County Tyrone and was buried February 28, 1891 in the Irvinestown Graveyard, Irvinestown, County Fermanagh. The records also indicate that his wife Elizabeth "Bessie" Gormley McFarland died March 3, 1887 and was buried in the same graveyard March 28, 1887. I would appreciate it if anyone who lives in the vicinity of this graveyard would see if they can locate their tombstones. I would like to know if there are birth dates listed on the tombstones. This is information that I am missing in my genealogy of the McFarland family.
