Hi Maggie I can't help with the farm, but it may be in the Moy RC Parish the boundary of which you can see on my map (see link below) by selecting: County: Tyrone, RC Parish: Moy. Moy township is on the eastern edge of the parish. If you type Tamnamore in the search box (top right), you will find a Tamnamore village about 3 miles to the NE of Moy (but not in the Parish). BTW - you can find Moy the same way. These are all in the Dungannon area. Matilda is a name in my Robinson family who were from Tyrone - 'The Rock' nearer to Cookstown. You don't have any Beriahs do you? Both my GGF and GGGF were Beriah Robinson. Hi, Listers, Thanks Sharon for the news about the Kidds. It's just a family story, but the fact of some being there helps to make it more possible. I have Olivers in my own family, but from Bristol if that ever enters in your Oliver research. Thanks too Averil, for remembering me. I found the original reference to the Canadian records on Genealogy.com....don't use it as a source much, but there it was. Once you go to the National Archives in Ottawa the material available is phenomenal. Genealogy.com gave the reference and I found the film easily. Thanks for asking. Best, Val in Ottawa.

Dear Val, I cannot offer you anything at this time - except to say that the KIDD (or KYDD) family were also involved in the linen trade in Co. Armagh. I have been following another family's fortunes in that trade (the OLIVERs) and in the new year will be posting more to my site. Your Canadian archives find is a really great one. Hi Listers, It's been a while since I was here, but I do have new information now. I found in Canada's National Archives 3 letters concerning John Burton from about 1827 in County Tyrone. One is a letter from the parish of Kildress, signed by the Church Wardens, attesting to his good character. Another is from Will Richardson, Captain of the Benburb Infantry, saying that John served as a private soldier under his command, the third a letter from John Burton to Lord Bathurst, his second in two years, in which he says he is an excellent linen, muslin,? and diaper weaver and is bringing up his children to that business, but weaving spinning and other sorts of business are in decline and it is not in his power to support himself and 6 children in his trade in Tyrone. He asks for the grant of a free passage to any of his Majesty's British Settlements. John Burton arrived in Quebec, Canada in 1830 with his wife Jane Beaver(s) and their children. He did well enough as a farmer that he was able to donate a Protestant Church to his community. He died in 1881. He is my grandchildren's ancestor. Family story says that his parents were Thomas Burton and Alice Kidd. Any further information on the area or the families would be appreciated. Val in Canada.

I am researching the following families: Moffat, Morrison and Milligan. Robert and Mary Moffat had a daughter Elizabeth (Bessie) Moffat, who was baptized 11 Feb 1814 in Parish of Donaghenry. She died 13 July 1877 of Tullylig. She married first, William Milligan (son of Richard) of Tullaghmore, who was baptized 12 Jan 1806 in Parish of Tullyniskin. He died 25 March 1847. They had children, Anne (b 3 Mar 1836), Joseph Milligan (b 12 Jan 1839) and Margaret (b Sept 1841). Margaret Milligan married first James Little Jones and had son Robert (b 29 July 1864) and she married 15 Sept 1867 in Donaghenry Parish, second Patrick Neill and had 8 more children. After William's death, Elizabeth (Bessie) Moffat married 18 Sept 1854 in Cookstown, Robert Morrison (son of William) as his second wife. They had two daughters, Sarah Morrison (b 25 March 1855)(my great great grandmother), and Elizabeth Morrison (b 1 Jan 1857). Other names connected with these families: Crawford, McCullough, and Bleeks. I have more information, but this is enough for you to see if you have any ties. I do appreciate your offer very much. Good morning list: In looking at the list of C of I churches as they relate to the list cemeteries from the History on Headstones site I see that the only "Cathedral" as being listed is the Cathedral at Clogher which is roughly in the middle of County Tyrone and I believe the cemetery has been surveyed. Question for the list then is this, were they any other C of I Cathedrals in Co Tyrone with related cemeteries during the 1840's to 1860's? Eric
