At this point I think this may be a "shot in the dark" but I'm trying to trace back my Coleman lineage which I was told, originally came from County Tyrone. I know they would have emigrated sometime prior to the mid 1830's and settled in the town of Cookstown, Simcoe County, Ontario, Canada. I believe the link below is a photo of the original Coleman clan that I'm related to... http://www.innisfilhistorical.ca/details.php?IDnum=913 The names I have are William Coleman, who I believe is my gg- grandfather 1804 - 1880 - born in Ireland, died in Cookstown Ontario, his wife Jane Henderson (also born in Ireland) 1819 - 1892 ....I haven't found much on the "Jack Coleman" in the photo - certainly no sign of Jack in the St John's cemetery in Cookstown. Perhaps there's someone here that has a connection to the Coleman's who left Ireland in the early 1800's? Thanks! Cheers! If Patrick was a nephew and his surname was Kelly, he would have had to be a son of Eugene's brother. Perhaps Patrick's father and family remained in Ireland. Do you have Patrick's death information, which often contains parentage? Do you know where and when Patrick died? Was Patrick born in Ireland? In which part of California did Patrick reside? I would be interested in any additional information you could provide concerning Patrick. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. My father just did the basic DNA test first and we are in the process of an additional test to look further. Does anyone know of a Mason / Knox family connection????? They were from Greenbush, NY (As far as I see) and moved to FLORIDA in 1896-1899 range. I may be off though he was showing NY in every census. (I hope I have the right George B. Mason of NY) The names of his family in NY are the SAME as his children born in FL. The DNA shows Knox from Scotland and the Haplogroup is K2. Please Help! Were they once a Mason'Knox? The details, as I know them, are as follows: > John Cobean: DOB: 24 Dec 1820, Co Tyrone > Hannah Fleming: DOB 05 Apr 1821, Co Tyrone > His parents, and siblings were as follows (there were probably others): > John Cobean, father: DOB: Unknown > Mary Unknown, mother: DOB: Unknown > Agnes Nancy Cobean: DOB: ca 1821 > Priscilla Cobean: DOB: ca 1823 Jim - Do you know where in Tyrone your Cobean familes lived? I am researching an indirect line of Cobain/ Cobane/Cobean families. John COBAIN of Skey married Maria STEPHENSON of Cavankilgeen in 1821 at Aughnacloy Pres. church. John's father is believed to be James. John also had a sister Ann who married James FALLS in 1822. Associated families include FALLS, IRWIN, McCALL, MILLAR. John, Maria and their family migrated to Victoria, Australia in 1851. Several of the other families (or their children) followed. I don't see a connection to your family but it might give a clue to an area of research in Tyrone. Skey and Cavankilgreen lie about 5km south-east of Ballygawley toward Aughnacloy. Good luck with your research. ------------------------------------- Barry Graham Melbourne, Australia

Family lore states his eldest son, James, inherited this (who passed it to his son who sold it and moved to Montreal Canada). Since my gggg grandfather's first son would inherit Kellygarvin, he bought a Manor House "Ballankelly" for his second son John Moffett (my ggg grandfather), and a Manor House "Ballangaven" for his third son Robert Moffett. Does anyone know anything about these "Manors" (also referred to as farmsteads)? Also, I can't find any birth or christening or other information for (can anyone help?): 1. My ggg grandfather, John Moffett (born Dec 10, 1729 in County Tyrone, died in 1788 in County Tyrone) who married abt 1763 to: 2. Elizabeth Fergus (or Forgee or other spelling) born Nov 15, 1744 in Scotland who immigrated to the U.S. probably between 1788-1805 where most of her children had immigrated. 3. They had 11 or 12 children between 1764-1785 including my gg grandfather William B. Moffett (born Feb 1 1783 in County Tyrone who immigrated to the U.S. abt 1805). Any assistance is appreciated.
