I do not feel this is the appropriate list for Mr Eric Mackin's views and opinions. Please Let us keep to searching for our ancestors. Thank You. T Forsyth
Hi Theresa, nice to see that you are still working on it. I have taken a breather but still keep tabs on all of the things going on. I too sent along a message regarding this kind of diatribe and hope that we can get on with today's problems rather than living in the past with all of its problems. In our search for ancestors there will always be some "problems." As it was, my cousin (along with a lot of sons and daughters, cousins and friends) was sacrificed to the cause in the Miami Band murders of 1976. You might be interested to know there are some more Gaffigans in our line; we found them to be from Cork. But they were originally (????) Gahagens, and they are in our Leonard line. It comes by way of Wisconsin and Pennsylvania, and along the way from Cork (and possibly Tipp). In any event I still would like to find that illusive egg that is hiding under the tree that is related to the other two sisters we found in San Francisco. I hope that you are well, and weathering the storm clouds that always seem to crop up before the sunshine. Does this diatribe have anything more to add? There was enough blood shed to go around, from both sides of the question. And it is time to stop adding coals to the fires that do burn so grievously in the "hearts" of all Irishmen and women. Please, leave it for the historians and get on with the future. Hi Fiona: Re-read your article again on your complaints about the IFHF site, a little more closely this time, and saw that the Seinn Fein (SF) thug and ex-IRA military member, ex-convict, now a member of the Ulster parliament, one Martin McGuinness [for Dungannon - Mid Ulster] was in Dublin from Ulster with his co-friend from the Republic announcing the still born birth of the IFHF genealogy site. Calling this man "Mr." is an absolute joke and he and his other members both past and present are involved in murders and the destruction of practically all the first and second world war memorials in northern Ireland especially those commemorating the lives of Commonwealth and US service men. As we all know the Seinn Fein were deep admirers of the Kaiser in WW! and "Mr" Adolph Hitler and his crew during WW2 while the rest of neutral Ireland sat on their collective derrieres. This criticism doesn't come close to the murders (men women and children) conducted under his leadership and the attacks on the Queen's household guard in London that injured 32 and killed 6 horses 10 years ago. The people of northern Ireland have sat idly by while all these cenotaphs and in some cases grave sites have been destroyed and continue to show their back-sides to anything that is British, Canadian or American. As a result even Senator McCain, a Presidential candidate in the US will not meet with the Seinn Fein membership and this now includes the Premiers Office of Canada. Also Canada has cancelled the so-called charitable designation of the Seinn Fein and added to a no-fly lists as well as listed a persona non-grata. One day Australia will follow suit. I can smell the blood, death, carnage and cordite and corruption all the way over here Canada. These people steal from everyone and the IFHF is absolutely no different. Now they will steal from you if you pays fees to IFHF. All decent Brits, Canadians, Australians and Americans should avoid anything that the Seinn Fein wishes to support including this laughable new genealogical site called IFHF. The first step is to delete any reference to this IFHF "Irish Fools Here Found" and use the UHF site instead which has all the original information. I wonder how much the UHF was paid and what the level of graft was paid to the SF. I for one will join Fiona, and agrowing list of others, in boycotting this IFHF site permanently in honour of my father, surgeon with the Canadian Squadron and my uncle who served as a Canadian pilot flying Spits in WW2 (412) as well as my grandfather who was the Chief Surgeon (Eyes Ears Nose and Throat) in the old King George V military hospital in Dublin during WW1. The beautiful cenotaph dedicated to the Sutherland Flying Boat air/sea rescue squadrons and pilots from all over the Commonwealth and the USA based on Lough Erne was one of the first to be blown up shortly after the war and the people of northern Ireland did nothing. The Seinn Fein's view point of the world is absolutely unremarkable to the extreme and defines an absolute hatred that is worse than Al-Quada. So then if you want to pay fees to IFHF ...you'll know who you are supporting ..... buyer beware .... Seinn Fein is waiting for your money ..... do unto them as they do unto us ... looking as his picture at the announcement you can hear him saying ........ "...... SUCKERS .....". It's a shame his e-mail is not listed .... I'd also tell him personally that he will not be allowed into Canada including the likes of his SF leader, Gerry Adams, another SF ex-convict. Eric Macklin Canada ...now I will delete their site with pleasure

I'm looking for more information in Fermanagh for a family that immigrated to Australia in 1842 on the ship "Broom" to Australia. Alexander Gardner (b. abt 1813 - 1817) and his wife Mary Anne Symington (b. abt 1815) with their children Christopher James b. 1836, Fermanagh, and Johanna b. 1842 at sea, settled in Manilla, New South Wales, Australia. The Broom ship passenger documentation has Mary Anne Symington from Ennidskillen, Fermanagh as well as her husband Alexander Gardner. (but Alexander's death certificate in Australia has Tyrone as his birth place) Alexander's parents are listed as James and Mary Gardner. Mary Anne's parents are listed as George Symington and Elizabeth Gardner. I'm wondering if there might be a connection with your William James Symington. I've wandered and wondered around Co Tyrone and Co Donegal a few times including Co Meath along the Boyne River valley necropoliptic area in the Republic and note that there is not one solid reference as to where any one of the Irish Kings are buried. So an so is buried here and so and so is buried here type of thing. The only thing available is some vague generalization that "they" are buried "over there" in some miscellaneous passage tomb or disneyfied grange, but there is nothing definitive like the Kings of every other country in Europe. I get the distinct impression that the Irish Kings were cremated and their ashes simply tossed into the River Boyne or the like or thrown to the winds with all "records" destroyed by the incoming Christian church to make sure that these old sites were marginalized to prevent the resurgence of the "olde religion and their leaders". In searching for the ancient Kings - Chieftains - leaders of Gaul the same general sweep of sites also holds true there as well. Out with the old and in with the new. Does anyone have any specifics for the Irish Kings with written specific confirmations for any of the "Kings" or "Chieftains" being buried at a specific site at all. We can forget about sites like Newgrange, Douth and Knowth and the like because there is nothing there. In fact not one passage "tomb" was ever found to have a body of a known king/chief, just a servant or two and a couple of remains for a family dog. Anyone care to comment with specific references for Irish Kings/Chieftains that is verifiable? Eric
