    1. Re: [NIR-TYRONE] "Tircarr" and Jane Bernay & Robert Hall?
    2. Debby, It could be either townland, given that the difference is just one vowel and spelling was not as strict back then -- plus it could be a matter of a different pronunciation and Irish dialects. Do you have any other information to figure out which one? Ticar (Clogher) was 179 acres in size whereas Tircur (Cappagh) was 400 acres - I would imagine that the larger townland would have more inhabitants, but that all depends upon the quality of the land. According to the Householders' Index the HALL surname was present in the parish of Aghlurcher at the time of Griffith's Valuation and the Tithe Applotment. I don't have access to the Householder's Index for the civil parish of Cappagh, but you should check that too. Many libraries have the "Householder's Index" and there are indexes on CD of Griffith's. I believe the TIthe has been microfilmed by the Mormons. The closest spelling of Bernay that I could find in a quick search was BERNE and BARNE. Clare L. -----Original Message----- Thank you. My Joseph Charles Hall gives Tircarr Ireland as his place of birth on his marriage certificate. Would you concur that it is probably the township of Tircar in Clogher? How can I obtain any records such as census or BDm's for this place? Regards Debby -----Original Message----- Subject: [NIR-TYRONE] "Tircarr" and Jane Bernay & Robert Hall? There is a place called Tircur (aka Tyrcur) in the civil parish of Cappagh, not far from the town of Omagh located in the PLU of Omagh. There is also a townland called Tircar in the civil parish of Aghalurcher in the PLU of Clogher. -----Original Message----- <<< Hi, Is there such a place as Tircarr Co Tyrone? Has anyone any information on a Jane Bernay who married a Robert Hall? A son Joseph Charles Hall came to Australia around 1850 and his details are sketchy to say the least. I recently received a copy of the information on the Broom 1842 passenger list. I did not see a son, Samuel Gardner mentioned that died? Could you tell me where I could find this information? Do you know how old he was? On the same voyage of the Broom in 1842 there is William Gardner with his family, but he's listed as son of Nancy Gardiner, Widower. Perhaps this too was a relative as he's from Fermanagh too. Do you have any information on the family in Ireland? I still have been unable to find out exactly where the Gardner family is from in Ireland. The Broom records mention Fermanagh, but Alexander's death certificate mentions Tyrone. And neither give an exact location within these counties? I would be very interested in any information on a location in Ireland or any Irish records. Thank you Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. 1. [NIR-TYRONE] Mulholland and McMinn families
    2. 45plus commander
    3.   Hi I would love to receive any information about my greatgreat grandfather MOSES MULHOLLAND and his wife Catherine McMinn.  What I do know is that they did live for a while in Dungannon Ireland as my greatgrandmother Margaret was born there in 1860.  They had at least 6 children who came to Australia on the Ocean Empress in 1862 arriving in Sydney. Unfortunately I cannot locate the mother Catherine among the shipping list or deaths in Australia so maybe she stayed in Ireland   I believe MOSES's father may have been MOSES and his mother's name maybe LETITIA, who stayed in Ireland.  I also suspect that a relative may have came across to Australia earlier and helped pay for their passage to this country.  Any help will be greatly appreciated.   CATHERINE McMINN's fathers name was James and that is the limit of information that I have on her. They were married November 5 1847 in Carland Tyrone Ireland.. Cheers Colleen  Get the name you always wanted with the new y7mail email address. www.yahoo7.com.au/y7mail

    3. Hi I am trying to find out what happened to Catherine Mulholland nee McMinn sometime between 1860 and 1862.  I cannot locate her here in Australia or amongst the passenger list which her family (husband and 6 children ) came over therefore I am assuming that either she died in Tyrone around Dungannon area or stayed in Ireland.   Moses and the 6 children left Ireland on the Ocean Empress and arrived in New South Wales Australia in 1862. If anyone can help solve this little puzzle I would be very grateful.  Cheers from Australia Colleen Get the name you always wanted with the new y7mail email address. www.yahoo7.com.au/y7mail

I do not know the name of the church nor the name of the town where they lived in Tyrone, but need help there. I would like to find their place of residence and the Presbyterian church where they were married and also to find its address, if it still is in existence. These two emigrated to the Pennsylvania area of USA in 1733. I would like to find more information about this family. They had a son, Thomas, supposedly born in Tyrone in 1776, but that date must be wrong as they had already emigrated supposedly in 1733. The Cuthbertson family had migrated to Ireland from Midlothian, Scotland in the mid-1660s by another Cuthbertson relative, Thomas. I need to get more information about all the Cuthbertsons and the Monteiths in Ireland, if possible. Can anyone help me? Please contact me at annemedlin@comcast.net. Thank you.
